This partnership focuses on enhancing carrier vetting processes and combating the increasing threat of freight fraud, which has seen a dramatic rise in recent years.
In response to a nearly 800% increase in global freight fraud from 2019 to 2021, as reported by TransUnion, Gebrüder Weiss embarked on a mission to strengthen its defenses against cargo theft, carrier identity theft, and double brokering. Industry estimates from FreightWaves suggest that double brokering alone costs the supply chain up to $700 million annually. This alarming trend prompted the search for a robust third-party solution, leading to the selection of Highway due to its proven leadership in carrier identity and fraud prevention.
